Miss North Texas International and Jerry's Express Car Wash team up to raise funds for Child Abuse Prevention and Recovery on Saturday, December 18, 2010.

ABOUT MISS NORTH TEXAS:

Rachael Lynee Burns is the current Miss North Texas International who will be competing for Miss Texas International on March 13, 2011. Her platform is Child Abuse Prevention and Recovery, which she is very passionate about and hopes to be able to take this passion to a statewide and ultimately international level. Her passion for this subject comes from her experience as a child. She states, "We can't prevent most child abuse cases, but we can stop it and help people recover from it." Miss North Texas promotes the National Children's Alliance who works closely with the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas. You may have seen her at various events throughout the metroplex, or on Good Morning Texas, or other local news stations. She is very active in the North Texas community and has appeared at such events as The Teddy Bear Ride for the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County, MotorCops for Kids, and "Ride for Kids" for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to name a few. She is thrilled about organizing this fundraiser for her cause!

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Jerry's Express Car Wash and Miss North Texas have joined forces to raise funds for Child Abuse Prevention and Recovery. This "Pledge Car Wash" will allow everyone in the community to participate just by having their car washed. Miss North Texas is now collecting "pledges" of five, ten, or twenty cents per car washed. The goal is to wash at least 100 cars on December 18, so that each pledge of ten cents is worth $10. Although Jerry's will be open all day, the fundraiser car wash count will stop at 100. Donations will not be collected at the event, unless you just feel extra generous. Car wash packages start at $3.00, and by having your car washed on December 18th, you will contribute to the 100 cars they need to wash in order to collect on these pledges! Please come out to the Fort Worth/Keller location from 10am until 5pm to have your car counted towards the goal of 100 cars for Child Abuse Prevention and Recovery! DJ Rick of Fishbowl Radio Network will be doing a remote radio broadcast, and the DFW Heat Football Team will be there to support. The backup date in case of rain is January 8, 2011.
